I'm sorry to say that we didn't do any ringing at 1 Albany Quadrant in April. But everyone else has been forging ahead, and producing a crop of noteworthy performances.
Personal milestones:
- Phillip George's 100th handbell quarter
- Ian Taylor's 600th handbell peal, which was also Frank Morton's 500th peal of major in hand
- Emma Southerington's 700th handbell peal
- Christopher Sharp's 400th handbell peal
Foreign adventures:
- A quarter in France by the Ladd family
- A few peals in India by Pipes and Earises
Various firsts:
- Rebecca Melen
- Ian Mills
- Laura Davies and Alistair Smith and both together
- Alan Winter
- Ian Redway
- Sarah Chadburn
- Alban Forster
- Simon Edwards
- Ali Lucas
- Christopher Sharp
- Robert Hornby and Matthew Johnson
- First quarter by Myles Louis Dakan
- First quarter in hand and first on 8 in hand by Cameron White-Spunner
- First quarter in hand as conductor by Gary Davies
- First handbell quarter by Nathan Evans
- A band breaking into Surprise Royal
Some handbell days:
- 6 quarters in Llandaff on 18th April
- The annual Reading handbell day with 20 quarters on 19th April
- 5 peals at Aldenham School on 19th April
Some interesting method combinations:
- Multi-doubles, and incidentally Jeremy Spiller's 900th peal as conductor
- The right-place methods from the Standard 8 Surprise Major, and their lead end variations
The clear choice for our featured performance this month is, like last month, a peal of Bristol Maximus. Congratulations to Jack for a great achievement.
