Well, maybe not. But in our continuing 8-spliced project, we decided that these are the methods we need more practice at, so we rang them in a quarter with a nice palindromic six-part composition:
1344 Spliced Surprise Major (4m) Simon J Gay 2345678 ---------- S 5738264 P- 7864523 B- 6784523 L- 5867342 B- 6587342 P 7452638 S- 4238765 ---------- 6 part P may be replaced throughout by C, N or Y.
The quarter went smoothly once we had got through the first two leads; it took a remarkable number of attempts before I was truly convinced that the 7th had to dodge 3-4 with the treble in Superlative, and after that was sorted out, I then had similar problems in Pudsey… anyway, success in the end.
Maybe next time we'll have another go at a 7-part all-the-work composition.
