Yesterday we had another go at a quarter of Little Bob Maximus in Ringing Room, and succeeded. There were a few tricky patches with delays, but nothing as bad as in the previous attempt. We finished in just under an hour.
There still haven't been many 12-bell quarters online: 4 in Handbell Stadium (of which I was in 3) and 11 in Ringing Room. Of the Ringing Room quarters, 5 were on handbells (i.e. each person ringing two bells; some people might have been using the keyboard) and 6 with one bell per person. Possibly it's more difficult with one bell each, because the more people there are, the greater the chance of delays to a particular person causing problems.
Here's the composition I called, with 13 courses of coursing for 5-6.
1320 Little Bob Maximus W M H 23456 ------------ - - 42635 6 - - 56234 - 6 35264 - - s 24356 s 23456 ------------ 6 = --s--s
When I first started ringing in Ringing Room, I didn't look at the screen much. But now I'm doing more conducting, I'm starting to be able to see the coursing order by watching the bells on the screen. In a way it's easier on 12 than on 8 - I can decide to watch the coursing order of the front bells, for example, and if it's 234 then I can see 2, 3 and 4 ringing one after the other, either in order or in reverse order depending on whether they are hunting down or up.
