What have we got for February? Let's see....
Some firsts:
- Jill Wigney's first peal of Spliced Surprise inside.
- Heidi Bradley has rung her first quarter in hand.
- and so has Tony Fortin.
- First on 8 in hand for Richard C Smith.
- Karen Maughan's first major in hand,
- and also for Simon Percy, followed shortly by his first Surprise in hand.
- Oliver Cross has rung his first Stedmand Triples in hand (the kind of thing you do on Lundy Island).
- Michael Platt has conducted his first handbell peal (well done!).
- Peter Bevis has rung his first Surprise major in hand (and not before time).
- George Salter and George Vant have rung their first on 8 with a quarter of Kent.
- Isobel Frey has rung her first quarter inside, as has Carrie Hyde.
- Alan Futers has rung his first handbell quarter, which was Kent.
- Mike Pidd has rung his first peal of Surprise (and called it)
Significant Milestones:
- 250th peal at 15 Lytham End! (and glad to see Ken Davenport ringing again).
- Tim Bayton has conducted 400 handbell quarters.
- Frank Morton has rung 400 handbell peals of minor.
- John Harrold has rung 600 handbell peals, 500 of them for the Hereford DG.
- 50th handbell quarter for Sally Mew and Sheila George.
- Martin Daniels has rung 200 handbell peals.
Handbell gatherings:
- A productive start to the month for Alderney, with 3 quarters, and firsts for Jane LeConte, Sue Le Feuvre, and Amy Madden.
Performances of note:
- A nice peal of Kent in Mumbai
- A peal of 8-spliced in memory of Phil Rothera.
- A silent and non-conducted quarter of Plain Bob Minor - always a challenge.
- And a very nearly non-conducted one.
- First peal of Xylophone in hand.
- Many performances in memory of Dennis Chapman.
- We wish we had the insouciance of this footnote.
- The first changes by the Bromley Handbell Sunday School. Hoping to hear more from you!
- David Maynard rang Zanussi in hand.
- We liked this OUS quarter, which was a first of Surprise for the whole band.
Featured performance:
We have been watching the build-up to this peal of 23-spliced, with plenty of firsts. Good effort!
